Our reason for being

At Marblehead Writers' Workshop, our mission is to bring inspiration, instruction, and a sense of community to writers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Our goal is to create a supportive communal space for all kinds of writers to come together and express themselves while exploring ways to share their words with the world. To this end, we offer a range of classes, workshops, talks, and other practice-nurturing opportunities.

Since 2015 we have offered workshops and classes in locations in and around Marblehead, including pop-up classes in unique locations. Reflecting the changing times, we also offer virtual courses and events.

The Workshop was founded by writer and writing coach Julianna Thibodeaux whose goal was to build a writing community while addressing the need for more writing instruction offerings in the Marblehead and greater North Shore area.
